Designtrasparente is a company specialized in design, product development and the production of plexiglass (acrylic) products, with extensive experience in creating transparent, functional and customized solutions for furniture, display, protection and space fitting

We are manufacturers of plexiglass and acrylic products: we do not simply sell ready-made products, but design and manufacture our solutions directly, overseeing the different stages of production and bringing together design, material characteristics, functionality and aesthetic requirements

The term plexiglass is commonly used to refer to PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), an acrylic material also known by other commercial names, including the Perspex brand. Designtrasparente works with this material to transform it into finished products and solutions designed for different applications

We mainly work with cast plexiglass, available in different thicknesses, colours and finishes. Our production includes processes such as laser cutting, heat bending, bonding and assembly, which can be combined to create simple products or more complex structures

Our experience in working with the material allows us to use plexiglass not only as a transparent element, but as a genuine design material, through which we develop shapes, structures, furniture elements, display systems and customized solutions

Design and product development

Design and project development are an important part of our work

A project can start from a product already available in our catalogue, a technical drawing, a sketch, a photograph, an idea or simply the need to find a solution for a particular space, object or function

Our bespoke design service consists of transforming these requirements into a concrete product, considering dimensions, proportions, shape, thickness, materials, assembly methods, intended use and aesthetic result

Where possible, we can modify an existing product to adapt it to the customer's requirements, changing its dimensions, configuration or features

When a standard solution is not sufficient, we can develop a completely new project and create bespoke plexiglass products designed specifically for the context in which they will be used

This means that for us, the concept of "bespoke" is not limited to different width or height measurements, but can include the design of a completely new shape, structure or system

In-house production and material processing

Our in-house production allows us to directly oversee the manufacturing of our products and maintain a close connection between the project and its actual production feasibility

Our knowledge of the characteristics of plexiglass allows us to assess the material according to its final application and select the appropriate thicknesses, shapes, processes and finishes for each project

We work with transparent plexiglass to create products where visibility of the object, lightness and visual transparency are essential elements

We also use coloured sheets and special finishes, including metallic, fluorescent or mirror-effect plexiglass, when the material also needs to contribute to the aesthetic character of the product

The combination of design and production allows us to handle both simple projects and more complex projects consisting of several elements, creating individual products or coordinated series
